SINGAPORE CARTOON CAMP- Another School holiday camp my daughter enjoyed

Cartoon drawing camp conducted by the Aussie in Salvation Army  Building at Bishan. I first came to know about this through her school flyers. The schools has asked the kids to bring back this flyer and if the parents are interested can signed up for the kids. This camp, parents are not allowed in.

I was actually torned between this camp and the other Manga cartoon drawing class conducted at Volvo showroom for its members. However, I decided to take this A Cartoon Kingdom Program - by Australian Cartoonist Danny Cohen and team. Throughout the week, each day has a different theme and activities. Twice in that week, there is a night camp. ( not an overnight one, but one that starts 6 p.m and ends at 9 p.m )

See the attached brochures and curriculum.

Cartoon camp curriculum

I figured out that this is a better camp as I can :

1. Put her in the camp for more than 8 hours. ( signing her up for full day Plus night camp )

2. Camp has all activities besides just drawing cartoons.

3. Able to interact with different people from different walks of life (indeed this is what’s happened, families and children with sibilings from different races and countries participated )

4. Camp is about fun, its is about party. It is not a lesson.

5. Camp is also about discipline. Imagine about 30 children running wild and talking at the same time.

Though my daughter went for 1 full day camp, at the end of that night she was asking to go to the last Saturday camp. Only one thing not is considered negative to her. She said she cannot draw as well as the teacher. However, her previous drawing training is different from cartoon drawing, she will expect her cartoon to have the same and identical identity as the cartoon drawn. However, I encouraged her that it is alright. She can create her own cartoon and comics , it does not have to follow these characters !

If the camp come next holiday, I will definitely sign her up and maybe get all her cousins to come along too !
