I am Serious, So What ?

The title is a Singaporean Slang but it really expressed h0w I felt when people commented on my behaviour and how I take things in my daily life!

In this world, there are some moral issues that people have taken for granted or I should said Blurred. Things that are not right are considered alright. It’s a norm; you don’t do it, you will be laughed and ridiculed. However, have their parents taught them well that such moral issues are not tolerable ? Or have their consciousness pricked on them when they act on it.

As parent, I normally will check and ask myself. Have I speak and acted as a model for my child ? Have they learnt from us what is seriously right and seriously wrong ?  Recently, during my review with my daughter’s teacher. She commented that my daughter’s sense of right and wrong is  strong. The teacher said that things or events which my daughter sees as not right, she will go and report to her. I am happy that my child’s consciousness is sensitive and she can discern what is right and wrong. I shared with the teacher the reasons for my seriousness to her on all these values. She agreed that it is important to incalcate the right values and morals to a child when they are young. Irregardless of how important academic is, attitude and moral upbringing are critical in their adult life.

So, when people asked me once again why I am so serious about some of the events happening to others. I do hope these people who asked will also realise that some values and moral standard just cannot be compromised !
